The sudden removal of tens of thousands of animal welfare reports from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) website prevents advocates from protecting dogs in puppy mills and the hundreds of thousands of other animals kept in places like zoos, research laboratories, and circuses.
Congressman Earl Blumenauer (OR) and Senator Ron Wyden (OR) have introduced bills in their respective branches that require the USDA to restore these records and post future records related to the administration of the federal Animal Welfare Act and the Horse Protection Act.
