Feral cats are a mysterious and regularly misunderstood animal. Also referred to as community cats, alley cats, street cats, and stray cats—controversy surrounds them, headlines vilify them, and scientists scrutinize them, yet millions of people continue to feed, care, and advocate for them. Because they aren’t adoptable they have the highest kill rates in animal shelters.
This film profiles Baltimore City’s Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program—how it came to be and it’s impact over the last 10 years.
We talk to Baltimore shelter directors, Baltimore health department officials, experts in the field, as well as national animal protection groups to get a larger, national perspective.
Few people understand community cats—this is their story.
